OverviewIn conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) and leading into World Mental Health Day (October 10), the Global Health Management Journal (GHMJ) is inviting original research, reviews, perspectives, and photo essays for our September 2025 Special Issue.
“Suicide Prevention and Mental Health: Digital Risks, Real Lives”This Special Issue aims to explore how digital environments intersect with mental health and suicide risk, especially among vulnerable populations, including youth, healthcare professionals, and marginalized communities. In a world increasingly mediated by screens, the consequences of unregulated algorithms, social media pressures, and online support systems must be critically examined.
Suicide remains a global public health crisis, claiming over 700,000 lives annually. Digital technologies have revolutionized mental health care through online therapy, mental wellness apps, and AI-based detection tools. However, they have also introduced new threats: exposure to harmful content, cyberbullying, mental health misinformation, and online communities promoting self-harm.
This issue will highlight both innovative interventions and critical risks within digital mental health ecosystems, offering a global platform for knowledge-sharing, policy dialogue, and actionable insights.
