More than ever before, the global pandemic of Covid-19 has impacted our communication. Universities managed to ditch face-to-face lectures and switch their teaching methods virtually. This situation leads to significant challenges for the higher education community worldwide, especially for those who have little experience with online learning may. On top of that, remote teaching sometimes leads to miscommunication between students and teachers.

As one of the leading institutions in the health education and facilitator for Indonesia and Thailand, Indonesian Scholars' Alliance and Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya (Health Polytechnic of Palangka Raya) will organize a Health Forum and International Seminar (HFIS) with main theme “The New Normal: Creating A Pleasant Virtual Communication”.

This seminar provides space for all students and education professionals worldwide to respond to the problem of communication barriers during virtual learnings. At the end of the seminar, targeted participants are expected to enhance their communication skills and bring virtual communication to a pleasant experience level.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITY

Participants of Health Forum & International Seminar (HFIS) are invited to publish a Photo Essay reporting results addressing global health issues on Nursing, Midwifery and Nutrition. The photographs can broadly describe the extension of political, social, and environmental determinants of health. Photo essays mostly comprise of high-resolution photographs that relate to health and well-being, with following topics of interests:

Author Guidelines

Photo essays mostly comprise of 10-15 high resolution photographs with 500-1000 words (exclude Authors Details dan References) of text on a topic that relates to health and well-being. No abstract is required for Photo essay. However, the description should lift the emotion of story or event that able to connect the content to health problems and solutions. Please follow APA style 6th citation style for the in-text citation and the references.

Authors hold the right to reproduce the photographs and must be able to provide Global Health Management Journal with permission to reproduce.

CITATIONS AND REFERENCES

Since July 2019, Yayasan Aliansi Cendekiawan Indonesia Thailand, the publisher for Global Health Management Journal and Proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Science and Health has been registered as a Member of Crossref. Thus, the styles for citation and reference format have changed to APA style 6th edition with DOI number. If you have the DOI for the journal article, you should include it in the reference, otherwise, it is not necessary. Use this DOI Simple Text Query to list all possible DOIs at your references.

In-text citation

The GLOBAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT JOURNAL (GMHJ) adopting APA style 6th citation style.

The APA in-text citation is in the format (author, year).

Example:

Anxiety and depression have been identified as more commonly in children and adolescents with long-term physical conditions (Dantzer, 2003; Pinquart & Shen, 2011).

When directly quoting from a text you must include a page number in the citation as given in the examples below. Including page numbers in all other circumstances is not required however, it is best practice to do so when referring to part of a work (e.g. a paragraph or chapter in a book). When referring to an entire work that covers a single topic (e.g. a journal article) it is not required.

Reference list

For papers with more than six authors, the first six should be quoted followed by "et al." Periodical (Journal) abbreviations should follow those used by PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/journals).

Your reference list should be ordered alphabetically by author and then chronologically by year of publication. The APA 6th style requires the references to be indented as illustrated below in the examples.

For instances of multiple articles with the same authors and years of publication, please check the APA publication manual or Academic Writer.

We delightedly appreciate all enthusiasm and attention to the 4^th International Conference on Applied Science and Health (#ICASH4), to be held on 23-24 July 2019 at Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

After double-blindly reviewed by at least one scientific committee and one editorial team, we proudly announce there are 207 papers have met the acceptance requirements set forth by the editorial board (details at the ABSTRACT BOOK).

There are 136 marvelous papers will be presented in Oral session, 16 amazing articles will be addressed in the Poster Talk session, and the other 55 enormous works will be delivered in one-hour Poster session. This year, Please kindly be noted that the Abstract has been edited by our committee. Acknowledging the role as the agent of change, Indonesian Scholars' Alliance responses by providing a medium to share knowledge and experiences in the field of applied science and health. We invite experts, practitioners, professionals, and students working in Asia and other regions to share their expertise, experiences, and views. Through this conference, the works can be reported as original research findings, best practices, review articles, and photo essays.

This year lies in the philosophy of “Science for the mankind”, ICASH 2019 raises the efforts of the scholars in translating research results into policy and practices, for better society. It is included the findings and reviews of factors of illness, epidemiology, health promotion, health policy, nutrition, environmental health and safety, nursing and midwifery, and other sciences related to health development.

The 4th International Conference on Applied Science and Health wishes to serve as a medium to share knowledge and experience among scholars, health practitioners and scientist in order to gain better understanding of the most crucial issues in Asia-Pacific region. Global Health Management Journal – A FREE Peer-Reviewed International Journal

GLOBAL HEALTH MANAGEMENT JOURNAL (GHMJ) is an open-access, triannual, peer-reviewed, online journal with a strong emphasize on health and applied science in health. Authors are welcomed to submit original research paper, systematic review, best practice, and photo essay in health-related topics to our journal with ISSN 2580-9296 (ONLINE).

It focuses on health field with strong preference (but not limited) on public health in general, maternal and child health, nursing, midwifery, sexual and reproductive health, public health nutrition, environmental health, occupational health and safety, health promotion, health economics in South East Asia and other regions. Applied science in health also becomes one of our priority, especially in the field of health information and technology, innovation in health, and development of devices, medicines, vaccines, procedures and systems developed to solve a health problem and improve quality of lives.

For the incoming edition, Vol.2, No.3, October 2018, this journal lift the idea of addressing global health challenges: policy, research and practices. Review process will take approximately 2 months before publication.

This edition will include the extension of selected peer-reviewed papers from the 3rd International Conference on Applied Science and Health.

Papers, which meet our editorial criteria, are welcome throughout the year.

Global Health Management Journal will issue its publication in February, June, and October. However, with its ONLINE FIRST policy, if a manuscript is considered particularly timely, the journal may consider it for publication in Online First section of the website. This will mean the paper is published ahead of the triannual issue, but will be removed from the Online First section and incorporated into the completed triannual issue once it is published.

There are no article processing charges, submissions fees, or any other costs required to submit articles to this journal. Refer to the journal to learn more about the Registration and the Author Guidelines.

First of all, kindly allow us to convey our utmost gratitude for all attention and enthusiasms to the 3rd International Conference on Applied Science and Health (ICASH). From the first open submission, there are now almost hundred papers which will be undergoing a rigorous review by our scientific committee before finally published at our ONLINE ISSN-registered repository.

Due to numerous requests, we delightedly announce the extended Paper Submission due date to the next Wednesday, 27 June 2018. For #ICASH3, we are welcoming delegations and representatives from at least the four co-hosts from Indonesia and Thailand. We also have received enormous manuscripts from other Asia-Pacific countries, even from Canada and South Africa. Meet more people working in the field of Applied Science and Health, and don't miss the opportunity to publish your work at our ONLINE ISSN-registered publications. The Best Presenters in Poster and Oral session will be given a certificate of appreciation at the networking dinner.

This year, at the #ICASH3, we raise the main theme "Addressing global health challenges: policy, research and practices". We celebrate the advances in applied science and health research intended to benefit all sections of society, from the very young to the very old, and to promoting better future health. Through this conference, the works can be reported as original research findings, best practices, review articles, and photo essays.

Since the very first #ICASH in 2017, it has been verified and acknowledged by Mahidol University as one of the conference that eligible for fulfilling graduation requirements for Masters Students. Even the #ICASH3 has been recognized as a certified scientific event by Ikatan Ahli Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia and the participation will receive 3 to 5 credits (Satuan Kredit Profesi).

The submitted full papers will be peer-reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. All papers submitted at oral presenter session will be included on the Proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Science and Health (ISSN 2579-4434), while the extension of the selected papers will be published on Global Health Management Journal (ISSN 2580-9296). Participation in the #ICASH3 can be either as Presenter or Non-Presenter. Registering as a presenter, the participants can present their original research findings and best practices either in oral or poster sessions, while review article can be included only in the oral session. Authors who decide to participate in Poster session are required to only send the ABSTRACT.

Either the full paper or the abstract should be submitted not later than 27 June 2018 through the online system on our official website www.ICASH.INSCHOOL.id.

Note: Be informed that authors who wish publications for their participation in the 3rd International Conference on Applied Science and Health, should present and sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement Form to the committee. Otherwise, we will not proceed the submitted papers to the review process.

PROGRAMS

The ICASH will be a one-day conference program, covers plenary and panel sessions. Plenary program will present the invited keynote speech related to future strategic planning and health programs. On the panel section, participants can select the topics based on their preference on the three sub-themes. Registering as a presenter, the participants can present their original research findings and best practices either in oral or poster sessions, while review article can be included only in an oral session. Authors who decide to participate in Poster session are required to only send the ABSTRACT. Last, at the end of the day, a networking dinner will be arranged to facilitate the participants for network expansion and cultural exchange. Best oral and poster presenters will be given a certificate at the closing ceremony.

WHAT’S NEW

At the 3rd ICASH, we open PHOTO ESSAY to be presented only in a poster session. The photographs can broadly describe the extension of political, social, and environmental determinants of health. No abstract is required for PHOTO ESSAY, thus, if abstract of all submitted papers will be published in the abstract book, articles submitted as PHOTO ESSAY will be excluded from the book. As the privilege, the selected PHOTO ESSAY will be published in Global Health Management Journal. First of all, kindly allow us to convey our utmost gratitude for all attentions and enthusiasms to the 2^nd International Conference on Applied Science and Health (ICASH). From the first open submission, there are now 125 papers which have been proceeded to peer-review process for consideration.

Due to numerous requests to extend the due date of full paper submission, thus, we delightedly invite experts, practitioners, professionals and students working in applied science and health-related field to share their expertise, experiences, and views; and further submit the precious works to our conference.

The 2nd ICASH raises the efforts to develop health and well-being for better society such as factors of illness, epidemiology, health promotion, health policy, nutrition, environmental health and safety, nursing and midwifery, and other sciences related to health development.

Through this conference, the works can be reported as original research findings, best practices, review articles, and photo essays. CALL FOR PAPER: The 2nd International Conference on Applied Science and Health

The 2nd ICASH, a joint conference between Semarang Health Polytechnic and Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, is organized by Yayasan Aliansi Cendekiawan Indonesia Thailand, internationally known as Indonesian Scholars’ Alliance (InSchooL). We invite experts, practitioners, professionals and students working in Asian countries to share their expertise, experiences, and views. Through this conference, the works can be reported as original research findings, best practices, review articles, and photo essays.

PROGRAMS

The ICASH will be a one-day conference program, covers plenary and panel sessions. Plenary program will present the invited keynote speech related to future strategic planning and health programs. On the panel section, participants can select the topics based on their preference on the three sub-themes. Registering as presenter, the participants can present their original research findings and best practices either in oral or poster sessions, while review article can be included only in oral session. Authors who decide to participate in Poster session are required to only send the ABSTRACT. Last, in the end of the day, a networking dinner will be arranged to facilitate the participants for network expansion and cultural exchange. Best oral and poster presenters will be given certificate at the closing ceremony.

HOW TO SUBMIT?

Authors should submit manuscripts through EasyChair System. Before the submission, information of each author should be provided and filled at the form, including First Name and Last Name, email, country, and organization. Each author marked as a corresponding author will receive email messages from the system about this submission. There must be at least one corresponding author. Author(s) should submit manuscript until July 27, 2017. All submitted papers must be in .doc format. All submitted manuscripts to the committee will undergo a single-blind peer review where both reviewer’s and author’s identity will not be disclosed. In some cases, the revised manuscripts will be re-reviewed. Final decision of paper acceptance will be made on the basis of this full paper review.
