Friendship extends beyond personal relationships — it is a powerful social determinant of health that shapes emotional well-being, access to care, community resilience, and the effectiveness of health interventions worldwide. This special issue seeks to advance the scholarly discourse by showcasing diverse perspectives and innovative research that illuminate the role friendship plays in improving health outcomes and promoting health equity.
